Where Is Affiliate Marketing Going ?

We hear a lot of scrawl and talk these days about Affiliate Marketing, so lets check how Affiliate Marketing is evolving.

One of the many examples have been the evolution of affiliate forums, as the primary communication channels, which subsequently evolved into blogs and RSS feeds.

This makes our work relatively easy.

All we got to do is to check out any of the Affiliate Forums [listed on the right] for the latest gozz and scrawl on aaffiliate marketing and other areas.

Of course, even the views of those independent players matter, depsite their satirical views

The market for Affiliate marketing, in the UK, according to leading affiliate solution providers. (another name for an affiliate network) for 2005 was around £500-£600 million, in terms of total sales generated through affiliate networks, excluding white label and self-administered schemes. This represents at least double the affiliate turnover compared with 2003 and the affiliate solution providers confidently expect their own revenues to grow around 40% in 2006.

Now I just don't know how to analyze these figures, but they definitely are far below in comparison to what was predicted for 2005.

Nevertheless, what is even more scarier or should I say, thought provoking is this marketing report, I received recently from Bogdan Fiedur, the CEO of Adlandpro. I don't know, whether to believe it or not, but it is definitely something worth considering while planning your affiliate business.

This iMedia Connection article written by Shawn Collins, one of the leaders in the Affiliate Marketing industry, does a great job of comparing past and future Affiliate Marketing trends.

Also The Best of iMedia 2005 is a collection of great articles.

More such information, can be obtained from the REVENUE Blog, or
Dave Taylor's Blog, or just about
any of the personal blogs listed on the side.

As I said earlier, the best wasy to know how the industry is evolving is to check forums or personal blogs, which serve as one of the primary communication channels .

Anik Singhal's monthly magazine also has some good views on aaffiliate marketing. Although it sort of lost its initial punch, it still maintains a high standard it has managed to capture. It is free and I think you oughta check it out http://blog.affiliateclassroom.com/

So where is affiliate marketing going and what are its plans ?

If we have to believe all the stuff that's going around and the rise of a new set of players - I will definitely be happy playing second fiddle to the regular, bigger players.

Obviously, they should have some backup plans for their marketing !
